Flying squad arrests 2 suspects after butchery armed robbery, PE

Two armed robbery suspects were behind bars, three hours after a butchery in Linton Grange was robbed today 7 October 2018.

It is alleged that at about 12:30, two males entered the butchery in Sylvia Cres, asked for meat and then walked out. They returned with 3 other males. Two produced firearms and held the staff and manager at gunpoint. A substantial amount of money was taken and the men fled in a white VW Polo.

The registration number of the vehicle was immediately circulated and at about 15:30, PE Flying Squad members spotted the vehicle in Bertram Street in Zwide.

Two suspects aged 39 and 42 years old was arrested and some of the cash was found in their possession. The vehicle which belongs to the 39 year old suspect was impounded by police.

Suspects are expected to appear in court on Tuesday, 9 October 2018.
