On Friday 5 October 2018, it is alleged that a female rep from SASKO was robbed at gunpoint when she was on her way to deposit money at the local ABSA Bank in Cradock. Her Ford Ranger LDW and the cash were taken.

Members of the Operational Command Centre at Cradock Cluster were dispatched and the suspects were apprehended when they collided with a tree in the Cradock North residential area. Two suspects between the ages of 30 and 35 were arrested and the stolen vehicle, an undisclosed amount of cash and an unlicensed firearm with live rounds were confiscated.

The suspects will appear in court on 8 October 2018. The Cluster Commander, Brigadier Madoda Zamkana commended the members involved whom assured that yet another unlicensed firearm was removed from circulation in the community.
