Beacon Bay Detectives acted swiftly on intelligence driven information that led to the arrest of five male suspects aged between 22 and 27 years for business robbery. A firearm with a filed serial number, ammunition with a magazine, expensive liquor and cigarettes to the estimated amount of R6 000-00, false or defaced identity documents, bank cards, petrol cards, undisclosed amount of money and eight cell phones were found in their possession.
Two vehicles that were utilized to commit the crime were also confiscated. The other found property is linked to a business robbery that took place on Monday, 10 June 2019, at a tarven in Umtata.
A case of Possession of suspected stolen property, possession of unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition and fraud has been opened against the five suspects and will appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court on 13 June 2019.
