Five arrested, theft of fifteen Eskom poles, St Francis Bay

Police nabbed five theft suspects, and recovered 15 Eskom poles after acting on information of possible stolen poles being kept at a house in St Francis Bay today.

On Wednesday, 9 May 2018 around 13:00, police acted on information of possible stolen poles being kept at a house in Elf Street, Sea Vista area in St Francis Bay. On 10 May 2018, around 15:00, police in possession of a search warrant raided the house and recovered 15 Eskom poles and subsequently arrested five men.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that a total of 50 poles were stolen in the Eskom site situated on R330 near Sea Vista two months ago.

The men aged between 24 and 30 will appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen property.
