During the early morning hours at about 00:40, SAPS members of the Kwazakele Vispol Task Team recovered two firearms suspected to be robbed during a house robbery in January 2018.
The members were following up information and found two male suspects walking in Makata Street, Kwazakele. However, on spotting police, the suspects managed to run away to avoid arrest after dropping the two firearms.
Both firearms, a 7.65 and .38 revolver with four rounds of ammunition were sent for forensic testing as their serial numbers were filed off. SAPS are suspecting that they were robbed during a house breaking in Seven fountains during January this year.
Leads are being followed up and arrests are expected soon.
