An intelligence driven operation conducted by the District K9 Unit and Operational Command Centre members led to confiscation of three firearms at Mtontsasa in the early hours of 5 September 2020.

A 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearms with one round of ammunition at Mgwedleni locality Khanyayo A/A in Mtontsasa today at about 00:45.

A 24-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of a Shotgun with four shells at Dukada locality Mkhamela A/A in Mtontsasa at about 01:45.

A 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of a Shotgun with one shell at Dukada locality Upper Hlabathi A/A in Mtontsasa today at about 02:50.

All the suspects will appear before Flagstaff Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 07 September 2020 facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and unlawful possession of ammunition.

A 30-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of drugs and a cash amount of R170 at Siphaqeni locality in Flagstaff at about 10:50. He will appear before Flagstaff Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 7 September 2020, facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

“You have saved many lives by confiscating these firearms and drugs,” said the District Commissioner Major General David Kanuka, when commending his members.
