EASTERN CAPE – SAPS members’ good team work and swift reaction made the successful arrest of two suspects and the recovery of a firearm possible.
On Saturday the 5 August 2023 at about 00:43, the SAPS members of Lady Grey received a call to inform them that the victim was shot outside his tavern.
The members proceeded to the scene and on their arrival they were informed that the victim was taken to Lady Grey hospital with his private motor vehicle as he was shot on the left shoulder and was already admitted.
The acting station commander, WO Adam and D/Cst Molete from the Detectives were assisted by members from POPS, K9 Aliwal North and Elliot as well as Crime intelligence on the tracing of the suspects.
Two suspects age 27 and 30 were arrested and an unlicensed firearm with a magazine confiscated.
The acting District Commissioner Brig Asogran Naidoo commended the members on the excellent team work and swift reaction that made the successful arrests and confiscation of the firearm possible.
