In an attempt to address the root causes of crime during Festive Season Operation, King Williams Town Cluster Police members managed to arrest more than fifty suspects.
Police were also on foot patrol doing stop and search operations in the areas and they managed to arrest more than fifty suspects aged between 20 and 49 years for various crimes in the policing area.
A 22 year old was arrested with a firearm that Police later established was a pellet gun he allegedly used during the commission of a robbery around Ginsberg area. Police dealt harshly with drug dealers and arrested five suspects for dealing in dagga at Ginsberg, King Williams Town.
Police visited the farms to prevent Stock Theft in their areas and will continue patrolling farms to ensure rural safety. Dangerous weapons and a pellet gun were confiscated by Police.
These suspects are due to appear at different Magistrate courts.
King William’s Town Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga commended the team for their team spirit, their efforts, diligence and their smart tactics in achieving these successes in addressing crime in our policing areas. Police are committed in fighting crime and in full force in tracking down the perpetrators of crime, he added.
