The SAPS endeavours to prevent and investigate property crimes yielded positive results after a housebreaking and theft case was reported at the community service centre and in only a few hours detectives recovered the stolen property and effected three arrests.

It is alleged that on 27 May 2021 during the night, a burglary occurred on a farm in the area. A chainsaw, electric drills, grinder and other farm tools to the value of R14 000-00 were stolen from the store room.

The complainant came to the police station on 28 May 2021 in the morning to open a case and while still busy opening the case, the two detectives visited known suspects in the area who usually operate with such modus operandi.

Some houses at Nkululeko Township were visited and the stolen property were recovered and three suspects arrested. The stolen property was positively identified.

The suspects aged 24, 31 and 40 years, will all appear at Barkly East magistrate court on Tuesday, 1 June 2021.

The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the detective officers for their investigative skills and intuition.
