A farm attack took place on Wednesday 17 August 2022, on a farm between Humansdorp and Hankey in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The farmer, who was shot and wounded on the same farm in an attack in August 2021, shot and killed his attacker.
The attacker was in the home and armed with a knife.
In self defence the owner fired a shot wounding the attacker who later died.
All roll players responded to the scene. The farmer and his wife were not injured during the attack but are receiving necessary support from the community.
The police are investigating a case of murder but no one has been arrested.
There is no other information available at this stage.
On 11 August 2021, at 18:40, on the farm Weltevreden, an unknown number of attackers opened fire on the farmhouse injuring the farmer (72) who was shot.
The farmer returned fire causing the attackers to flee into the bush. His preparedness and response probably saved his life and those of his family.
