A farm attack took place on Friday 25 November 2022, on a smallholding on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

A 72 year old woman residing on the smallholding was waiting for the garage door to close after just arriving from town when three black males suddenly appeared and threatened her with a firearm.

The attackers tied up the woman and then ransacked the house.

The attackers stole four firearms and jewelry from the safe and fled the scene in the woman’s B class Mercedes Benz with registration number JBK743EC.

The woman succeeded in untying her hands and called for help.

The Police are investigating.

By Friday night the vehicle had not been found and no arrest have been made.

It is very important that people step up security and be vigilant at all times because farm attacks are definitely on the increase. It is not advisable for elderly people to stay alone in secluded areas.

The firearms in the safe are not going to protect them if it is buried in the safe and kept as souvenirs.

Crime is on the increase. People need to realise that and prepare for any eventuality.
