Dutywa Police are investigating murders of three family members. It is alleged that Dutywa Police were informed by community members that a family of three were murdered on the night of Friday 21 or Saturday 22 September 2018 at their shop which is at Sirhosheni Locality, Nqabane Village, Dutywa.

The deceased were a 49 year old man, 40 year old woman and their eight year old daughter. It looked like they were attacked with bush knives. It is not clear at this point how the community members found out about the murders of the family.

The motive for the murders is also not yet known at this moment.

Dutywa Police are appealing to anyone with information about these murders to kindly contact Dutywa Police @ 047 489 1333 or Crime Stop 08600 10111. The identities of the deceased will be released once their next of kin have been officially informed of their murders.

Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu condemned the cold blooded murders of the deceased. He vowed that police will leave no stone unturned and will work around the clock to trace the suspect/s.
