Elliot K9 Unit members arrest suspects for dealing in dagga

Dealing in dagga is an ongoing problem in the Elliot Cluster, but on Monday 20 May 2019, at about 12:20, Constale Bena, Constable Kewuti and Constable Yekani were patrolling around Barkly East when they received information about two suspects that were carrying a big bag.

The suspects were surprised when the members quickly responded to the said place and upon their arrival met with the suspects carrying the bag. The members then interviewed the suspects just to determine that the suspects were carrying dagga to Barkly East to sell it.

The two suspects both 27 years old were arrested and the 7.670kg of dagga was confiscated.

The Cluster Commander, Colonel Matshediso Gezani commended the members for their swift response and thanked the community for the positive information.

This ensures that the perpetrators are arrested and brought to book.
