Port Elizabeth police in the Eastern Cape are appealing to the public for any information surrounding the death of an elderly woman in the city’s Northern Areas.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, said the woman in her fifties was found lying in a ravine nearby bushes in Bethelsdorp over the weekend.
He said she was discovered by community members who then alerted the police.
Labans said the woman was fully dressed and appeared to have wounds on her face.
He said a post mortem would be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
