Eastern Cape woman arrested for man’s murder
Woman dies after being stabbed in Margate.

Willowvale police have arrested a 58-year-old woman in connection with the murder of a 31-year-old man in an apparent argument about money, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.

“The deceased and the suspect were at a traditional ceremony at Ngxutyana village (Busakwe) locality on Saturday 17 September 2016 at about [9pm],” spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said.

A misunderstanding about money owed to the man was believed to be what led to his fatal stabbing, Manatha said.

The woman allegedly drew a knife and stabbed him in the upper body. The man, who could not be named until all his next-of-kin had been informed of his death, died at the scene.

“The suspect was arrested and the police recovered the knife that was used in the murder. The suspect will appear before the Willowvale Magistrate’s Court on Monday,” Manatha said.
