In line with the Back to Basics Policing Approach of efficient utilization of resources, the Police Management in the Eastern Cape will officially hand over 46 vehicles to various Cluster Commanders.

The vehicles include 3 x 16 seater busses, 41 LCV Nissan Hi-Riders and 2 LCV Ford Rangers.

Replenishing of the SAPS fleet is in pursuit of realizing the SAPS mission to enhance police visibility and ensure thorough and responsive investigation of every crime that may threaten the safety or security of any community and to ensure that offenders are brought to book.

The allocation of vehicles per Cluster is as follows:
Aliwal North: 8
Cofimvaba: 11
Mount Ayliff: 3
Mount Fletcher: 2
Mqanduli: 3
Mthatha: 3
Port St Johns: 4 and
Queenstown: 12
