Eastern Cape man arrested for dealing drugs

Butterworth policing cluster task team members arrested a 55-year-old man on Friday for allegedly dealing in drugs, Eastern Cape police said.

The man was arrested at the Skiet informal settlement in Butterworth after being found in possession of 8.04kg of dagga (cannabis) with an estimated street value of R8000, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

“The suspect was further found with 55 Mandrax tablets with a street value R5000.”

He had been charged with dealing in drugs and would appear in the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Monday, Manatha said.

Butterworth cluster commander Brigadier Stanley Sibidla praised the task team for a job well done.
