East London Crime Prevention members were patrolling the CBD area on Tuesday, 7 December 2021 when they spotted two suspicious males standing opposite the liquor store at St John’s Road in East London.
The members stopped and after searching them resulting in the recovery of a firearm and ammunition.
Two live rounds of ammunition was found on the second suspect’s possession. The two male suspects are 27 and 32 years of age.
A case of possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of live ammunition has been opened against them.
They will appear before East London Magistrate’s Court soon.
