East London K9 unit sniffs out drug stash, Gonubie

On 27 January 2019, at approximately 13:00 the members acted on the information and proceeded to the identified premises in Gonubie to execute a search warrant.

Upon their arrival at the house they found that the main gate to the house was locked, they jumped over the wall and got inside the yard and entered the house through the open garage door. Right inside the house they found two male suspects. They members introduced themselves to him as police and the reason why they were there and a search warrant was produced with the assistance of their Narcotic search police dog.

The dog reacted where a large amount of mandrax tablets were recovered with a street value of R39,800-00,an undisclosed amount of cash, Heroin weighing 14,9 gram, digital cameras and laptops that were also suspected to be stolen or used in the commission of crime were also recovered.

Both suspects 33 and 35 years of age were arrested for dealing in drugs and possession of suspected stolen property and will appear in the East London magistrates court.
