Dutywa Police arrested a 28-year old man for alleged rape of an 18-year old woman. It is alleged that the suspect came across the victim on Sunday, 23 February 2020, at about 17:00 at Mthuvi Locality, Taleni Village, Dutywa.
The suspect requested the victim to come closer to him so that they can talk. The victim refused and the suspect attacked her. She was overpowered by the suspect who eventually allegedly raped her.
The suspect is the former boyfriend of the victim. The suspect was traced and arrested on Thursday 5 March 2020. He will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Monday 9 March 2020, on a rape charge.
