The quick arrest of the 25-year-old man believed to be behind the murder of two people has been commended.
It is alleged that Dutywa police were informed about the shooting at GPO Informal Settlement, Dutywa on Sunday, 1 November 2020 at about 17:00. Police immediately followed up the leads which resulted in the arrest of the 25-year-old man on 1 November 2020 at the same area. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was arrested in possession of a pistol with two magazines.
At this stage it is unclear what led to the fatal shooting of the two men, a 34-year-old and another who is believed to be 28 years old. The 28-year-old has not yet been identified and Dutywa police are appealing to any family that is missing a relative to contact them and identify him.

The suspect will appear before the Dutywa Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 03 November 2020 on two charges of murder and possession of unlicensed firearm.
