During patrols of the N10 between Cradock and Port Elizabeth on 13 March 2018, members of the OCC Cradock and route patrol were following a white Ford Ranger. One of the members noticed something “red” sticking out from the mudguard.

Without hesitation, the team stopped and searched the vehicle. 21 Packages of dagga wrapped in red plastic weighing close to 44kgs to the estimated value of R87 000 was found hidden under the mud guards of the vehicle.

The suspect, a 35 year old male made a brief appearance in the Cradock Magistrates’ court on a charge of possession of dagga.

He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance on 20 March 2018.
