East London Cluster conducted a joint operation on 27 July and 28 July 2018. Members were focusing on liquor and drug outlets that attributes to contact crimes.

Problematic liquor outlets were visited, stop and search, blue lamp patrols were conducted in East London Cluster.

Four suspects were arrested for Selling liquor without licence and all the liquor that was confiscated has got a value of R6420-00, Forty four suspects arrested for Drinking in public and drunk and disorderly, 26 knives confiscated.

Three suspects between 20 and 26 years were arrested for Possession of Drugs in Kensington and Currie Court, three suspects between the ages of 25 and 30 were arrested for Possession of Firearm and and Defeating the ends of justice. Two of these suspects have got pending cases as per Howick Possession of Stolen property and they are also linked to East London business robberies and five Tsolo housebreaking cases.

All suspects will appear in the East London Magistrate Court on 30 July 2018.
