The attempts of our members in the Mount Road cluster in cracking down on the illicit sale of drugs is yielding positive results.

In the last 12 hours, 7 people were arrested for drug related cases across the station precincts. A total of 67 rolls of dagga, a substantial amount of loose dagga in packets, 9g of cocaine and several dagga trees were confiscated during searches at houses of suspected drug lords especially in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth.

Although no arrests were made during stop and searches in central, police confiscated dagga found abandoned in crevices of walls and grassy areas. Dagga trees were uprooted at a house in Stanford Road in Korsten.

The searches of suspected drug dens will continue as part of our mission to eradicate the sale of drugs within the communities.

Drugs contribute to the commission of many crimes and have an adverse effect on the youth.
