SAPS members’ endeavours to prevent and detect the dealing of drugs continued to yield positive results in Ugie.
It is alleged that on Thursday, 23 September 2021, at about 19:00, Elliot K9 members Sergeants Nduku and Ntshanka received positive information of a male suspect dealing in drugs at Ugie Town at Umnga Road.
The members immediately followed up the information that led to the arrest of a 39-year-old suspect.
The following drugs were found in the house and confiscated:
121 Boss mandrax tablets and 10 crystal meth (Tik) small plastic bags with an estimated value of R15 000 and R100 cash.
The suspect will appear on Monday, 27 September 2021, at the Ugie Magistrate’s Court.
The acting District Commissioner Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the members on the swift reaction and the confiscation of the drugs. ‘Drug dealers in our small rural towns will not be tolerated. Thank you to the community for the positive information provided and for not accepting this conduct of criminals.’
