Detective Sergeant Jones and Detective Constable Khambi of the Aliwal North Detectives Unit worked tirelessly during the last two months, following up all possible leads in tracking and tracing suspects involved in housebreaking cases. The housebreaking cases mainly occurred in Grey and Smith Streets where student residences were targeted.
During the early morning hours on 21 August 2019, the members arrested three suspects aged 15, 21 and 28 at Phola Park and recovered several items of stolen property.
The property included clothing and a laptop to the value of R 8 000-00. As more items are recovered the suspects will be linked to similar cases and possibly, more arrests are imminent as well as the recovery of more stolen items can be expected.
The Acting Cluster Commander, Colonel Mpho Rabela commended the members for their sterling efforts and dedication in arresting the suspects. “Their sacrifices and professional investigation made the success possible. Keep up with the good work!,” he encouraged the members.
