The fight against cross border of stock theft within the Province of the Eastern Cape members is ongoing. The Elliot stock Theft unit, on 15 August 2019, received a positive information about six live cattle hidden in forest near Maclear and further investigation revealed that they are stolen in MountFree.
The cattle were confiscated and placed at Tsolo Municipality pound for safe keeping.
Elliot Cluster Commander Col Matshediso Gezani reaffirmed her commitment fighting cross border of Stock Theft she further said “Rural Safety Strategy that includes routine patrols at forestry and monitoring movement of livestock.
