A successful joint cluster operation was conducted in East London on 12 July 2019, that resulted in good results. The Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Kanuka paraded the members from Law Enforcement, BCMM Traffics and SAPS and they were focusing on the CBD area and surroundings.

They were divided into groups and while they were patrolling at Windridge Buffalo Flats they found 105 Mandrax tablets to the estimated street value of R9 500 hidden inside a scrapped vehicle, three small packets of crystal meth was also found abandoned at Vergenoeg.

Traffic fines were issued on different traffic fines to the amount of R14 400, 2 vehicles was impounded in terms of Road Management Act. A 58 year old male suspect was arrested in Buffalo Flats for dealing in drugs and 402 mandrax tablets to the estimated street value of R36 200 were confiscated. A 28 year old male suspect was arrested with four counts of dealing in drugs, possession of drugs, possession of an unlicensed firearm possession of ammunition.

Suspect was found in possession of the following: 0,694 grams of Tik, 1 x 9mm Beretta short, 13 x live rounds, an undisclosed amount of money and a Toyota Quantum Kombi that was used in the commission of crime was confiscated.

A 25 year old male suspect was arrested for possession of 0,020 grams of dagga. A 32 year old male suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga, he was found in possession of 85 grams of dagga. All suspects will appear in the East London Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 15 July 2019.

8 fake CDs, 15 knives, 1 screwdriver, 6 pangas, 1 cellphone, 5 homemade bats were confiscated while stop and search was conducted. T
