Onlookers had to watch how a cow hit by a vehicle on the N2 near King Williamstown was chopped in pieces by members of the local community.
When the SPCA arrived at the scene, they found people using an ax to chop off pieces of meat from the cow.
Antoinette Muller of the SPCA delivered the animal from her suffering while the bystanders continued to “harvest” meat.
The National Council of the SPCA has stated that they do not understand such barbaric actions by the people.
For years, farmers have had to deal with these cruel practices where cattle thieves, chop or cut off pieces of meat and leave the animal to suffer.
