Police have launched a manhunt after a courier vehicle carrying goods worth around R350 000 was hijacked in Despatch.

On Thursday, 23 August 2018 around 08:45am, it is alleged that four men armed with firearms driving a white Volkswagen Polo held a driver of a courier vehicle and his assistant at gunpoint while delivering goods at Maraboe Street in Despatch.

A pair was then forced into a Polo and one of the suspects sped off with a courier vehicle. A vehicle was later recovered abandoned in Gwanci Street, Kwadwesi around midday with goods missing.

The two victims were later dropped in Port Elizabeth and reported the incident to their employer’s office.

Police urge anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the nearest police station or to share information via Crime Stop 08600 10111.
