Six suspects were arrested in separate incidents for drug related offences after search warrants were executed at a house in Malabar and in Missionvale. A total of 278 mandrax tablets, 83 rolls of dagga, 38 packets of tik, 6 packets of cocaine, a pellet gun and two cellphones were confiscated.

Acting Cluster Commander for Mount Road, Brig Andrew Louw has welcomed the arrests, recoveries and confiscation of drugs. ‘The Police Emergency Service (PES) plays an integral part in clamping down on criminals within the Mount Road Cluster policing precinct. These successes indicate that our members are passionate and dedicated to their calling. We are serious on cleaning up these drug dens in our neighbourhoods and we will continue to do so without any fear or favour. We are appreciative to the communities for coming forward and giving us information,’ added Brig Louw.
