The determination of members of the South African Police Services to reduce property crimes had paid off when two notorious suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property at Ikhwezi Naledi location Lady Grey.

It is alleged that at night on Wednesday, 5 May 2021, members of Visible Policing, Sgt Mboniswa and Cst Mbuli were performing night shift duty at Lady Grey when they acted on a tip-off alleging that suspects were hiding stolen property at Ikhwezi Naledi location. Members arrived at the house and found the stolen property.

The property could be linked with a reported case of Burglary that occurred in town.

A welding machine and two chainsaws to the value of R14 500-00 were recovered.

The two male suspects aged 21 and 36 years old were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

During the search another suspect was identified and arrested on a warrant of arrest for robbery.

All three suspects will appear on the 10 May 2021 at the Lady Grey magistrate court.

The acting District Commissioner Brigadier Rudolph Adolph hailed the quick reaction by the members and the recovery of the stolen items. The positive arrest were made possible due to the community that reject and reported the stolen items to the SAPS.
