The body of a 12-year-old girl was discovered in bushes near Khabonqaba Street, NU6, Motherwell, in the early hours of Friday, 27 June 2025. The grim discovery was made at approximately 02:10.
The victim has been identified as Lithaliyanda Ntoni, a resident of Luzipho Street, NU10, Motherwell. She had been reported missing on 24 June 2025 after failing to return home from a nearby shop.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has since arrested a 39-year-old male suspect in connection with the case. He faces charges of kidnapping and murder.
