On Saturday 12 October 2019, at about 05:00, four men were fishing in the sea in Port Elizabeth in a boat when they experienced mechanical problems. At about 09:00, the skipper alerted the fishing club that they were returning to port however before they could enter, the boat, uShaka capsized.
Three managed to swim to shore however, Shaun Oosthuizen (37) from Draaifontein drowned. Police have opened an inquest.
