In the early hours of 5 April 2023, an intelligence driven operation by POPS deployment and Crime Intelligence members executed a search warrant at KwaNompumelelo Mxina Street, Beacon Bay.
The information provided was a male residing in the above address alleged to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
On the arrival of the members they introduced themselves as SAPS members, a search warrant was shown to the person of interest and asked permission to search for the firearm and ammunition and the suspect granted the permission.
The 46-year-old wife of the suspect was acting very strange and upon body search by the female SAPS member a 7.65 pistol and one magazine with six live ammunition was found by the member between her thighs.
She failed to produce the licence to possess the firearm and ammunition and the suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The female suspect will appear before the East London Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 6 April 2023.
