Stabilization Operational Team deployed at Khanyayo, Flagstaff as part of intervention by Lieutenant Gen Ntshinga to rid of crime in the rural towns of Mthatha, Qumbu, Ngcobo, Mt Frere received intelligence driven information from PSJ Crime Intelligence Unit about a man suspected for burglary and theft of school property at Cuthwini locality, Lombasi A/A.

A search and seizure operation were conducted and the following property were recovered ten computers, five brooms and five mops were recovered. The 32 year old male suspect will appear at Lusikisiki Magistrate’s court on 29 November 2019 facing a charge of burglary and theft.

In another incident, the team deployed at Idutywa successfully followed up information of unlawful possession of firearm at JPO Skwatta Camp in Dutywa on 24 November 2019 at about 20:00. A 34 year old unlawful possession of prohibited firearm and ammunition after one rusty shotgun with brown cocking grip and four shotgun rounds were recovered.

Team deployed at Idutywa also successfully followed up information of armed robbery suspects that robbed a business in Ngcobo then fled towards Dutywa on 24 November 2019 at about 19:50.

The following male suspects aged 29, 30 and 35 years old and charged for unlawful possession of prohibited firearm and ammunition. An armed robbery case was opened at Ngcobo where one (1) black norinco star 9mm with three (3) 9mm rounds.

One (1) blue Avanza and cash valued at R450 was confiscated. The suspects will appear in Dutywa magistrate’s court on Tuesday, 26 November 2019. Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen Liziwe Ntshinga aplauded the arrest and encouraged members to work with other components to yield greater results.
