Amathole Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu was shocked by the news of burglary and theft at two schools at Butterworth and Centane on Monday, 26 July 2021.

This follows after the re-opening of the schools nationwide on 26 July 2021, when the teachers alerted Police of the burglary and theft that occurred.

It is reported that the doors were forced open and laptops, electrical appliances and undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu condemned such activities as this demotivates learners, we will ensure that those who are responsible are behind bars and that all stolen items are recovered, he added.
