A farm attack, the second in a week, took place on Saturday 14 August 2021, at 21:49 on a smallholding in Quarry Lane, Theescombe, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The complainant (51) was asleep in her bedroom and her daughter (12) was watching TV in the lounge.

Three attackers entered through a sliding door and pointed her daughter with a firearm, instructing her to keep quiet. Two suspects woke up her mother in the bedroom.

The daughter managed to run away, activate the panic button and then ran outside.

The other two suspects demanded money and the earrings of the complainant and when she refused, a shot was fired grazing the top of her head.

The complainant then handed over her earrings and the suspects ran away. The suspects fled with a laptop, cell phone, and keys of vehicles, earrings and laptop bag containing personnel documents.

Kabega Park detectives are on the hunt for the three attackers. A case of house robbery is currently under investigation.

Another farm attack took place a week previously on on the night of 7 August 2021, brazen robbers attacked a family on a smallholding in Theescombe after shattering the glass door and adjacent window before entering and threatening them with a firearm.
