Another suspect arrested in Panayiotou murder case
Details of how Jayde Panayiotou longed to be loved by her husband Christopher, emerged in a letter read out in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s court

More than a year after the murder of Port Elizabeth school teacher Jayde Panayiotou, another suspect has been arrested.

Her husband, Christopher Panayiotou is accused of masterminding her abduction and murder in April last year.

It is alleged that he paid a bouncer at his Infinity night club, Luthando Siyoni, to hire hitman Sizwezakhe Vumazonke to kidnap and murder his wife.

The state alleged that Sinethemba Nenembe assisted Vumazonke to kidnap and kill Jayde at the behest of her husband.

Christopher Panayiotou has been imprisoned at the St Albans prison for over year since.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Tsepo Ndwalaza told the African News Agency (ANA) that a man in his thirties was arrested on Sunday at his parental home in Greenbushes.

Ndwalaza said that police arrested the suspect through cellphone plotting which placed him at the Panayiotou’s Stellen Glenn complex in Deacon Road in Kabega Park from where the alleged kidnapping took place.

According to the NPA the suspect was placed at the scene together with Vumazonke and Nenembe at the time of the alleged crime.

The man, whose name is known to ANA, is expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s court on Tuesday on a charge of murder.
