Emalahleni Municipality Chief Whip, Councillor Xoliseka Lali, was found murdered in his home in Komani earlier this week. The shocking discovery was made in the early hours of the morning after he failed to report to work.
Lali, a dedicated member of the African National Congress (ANC) in the Chris Hani region, was described by his party as a “devoted servant of the people.” His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the community and political circles.
A Police spokesperson confirmed that a murder case has been opened, and investigations are underway. “At this stage, the motive for the killing is unknown, and no arrests have been made,” he said.
The ANC in the Chris Hani region expressed deep sorrow over Lali’s death, calling it a “senseless act of violence.” In a statement, the party urged law enforcement to act swiftly to bring the perpetrators to justice.
