On Saturday 2 March 2019, the Station Commander, Col Baninzi and her team together with the external role players, the CPF and Youth Against Crime once again embarked on crime prevention activities to monitor the pay out points for the old age grants. The community in the queues shared their appreciation to the SAPS.

During the activities a number of vehicles from outside the province were monitored and even Col Baninzi was threatened but managed to be kept safe by her colleagues, Lt Col Moliko and the youth secretary Ms Kama that quickly responded.

Two arrests for possession of dagga was successfully made.

Today the Station Commander and the members of Sterkspruit are monitoring the visit of the MEC for Social Development at Bensonvale.

Burgersdorp SAPS were also supported during the station operation by the members from the neighbourhood watch that assisted with foot patrols at Eureka area that was identified as problematic during the end of the month.

The Cluster Commander, Brig Trevor Mey commended the members for their hard work, commitment and dedication sometimes under difficult and dangerous circumstances. Thank you to the members from the community that takes the fight against crime so very serious that they sacrifice their own time to assist the SAPS.
