On 24 June 2019, at Midnight members attached to Aliwal North Detective Unit under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Mguqulwa conducted a successful operation focusing on a reported case of Business Robbery that have been perpetrated at a tuck shop situated at Grey street in Aliwal North.

It is alleged that between 3 and 4 June 2019, the suspects broke into a shop and gained entrance through the roof whereby they stole valuable items.

On 24 June 2019, upon acting on information received, two suspects aged between 19 and 28 were arrested and all the stolen property including cell phones, cell phone batteries and electrical equipment was recovered with an estimated value of R150 000,00.

The arrested suspects will soon appear before the Aliwal North District Court facing two counts of charges including Business Robbery and Possession of suspect stolen property.

The Aliwal North Acting Cluster Commander, Colonel Baninzi commended the swift reaction of the detectives that has led to the swift apprehension of the suspects.
