Alexandria police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after two siblings were stabbed at a tavern in the town, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.
The two brothers were stabbed during an apparent altercation with other people, Captain Mali Govender said.
“The second brother tried to intervene and assist and he was also stabbed.” The incident took place soon after midnight in Woodpecker street, Wentzel Park. Twenty-one-year-old Ayanda Vesele died at the scene and his 23-year-old brother Luyanda was admitted to hospital. No arrests had been made, Govender said.
