Gender-based Violence is a priority crime and a huge concern for the SAPS. Therefore, every effort must be made to arrest suspects and put them behind bars.

On Saturday, 31 July 2021, at about 00:20, SAPS Adelaide members attended a murder scene at Bonani Street, Lingelethu in Adelaide. On arrival they found the body of a 23-year-old woman with stab wounds.

It is alleged that the victim and her boyfriend were arguing when he allegedly stabbed her to death. The boyfriend (21) was later arrested and detained on a charge of murder.

He is due to appear at Adelaide Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 2 August 2021.

The Acting Amathole District Commissioner, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu has condemned the murder and urged people to seek professional help to solve their problems. ‘We will ensure those perpetrators involved in such incidents face the full might of the law’, he added.
