Swift police investigation led to the speedy arrest of a 23-year-old suspect who allegedly broke into a house on a farm just outside Willowmore on Sunday, 14 April 2024.
It is alleged that at about 06:30 on the mentioned date, the elderly 84-year-old woman heard noises on her roof. When she went to investigate, she found an unknown man in the kitchen. The woman was pushed onto the floor where she sustained injuries. The suspect cut off the telephone cables and fled from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. At about 18:00, the woman’s daughter found her, still lying on the floor. A case of house robbery was opened for investigation
On Monday, 15 April 2024, police arrested the suspect at De Rust in Western Cape. He is due to appear at Willowmore magistrate court on Thursday 18 April 2024.
