On Saturday, 2 May 2020 at approximately 17:30, a shop in G-West Walmer location was allegedly robbed by six suspects. The complainant (25) was in the shop when the masked men entered the shop. Two of the suspects went behind the counter and pointed the complainant with a firearm and a knife. They demanded cash.
The suspects fled with airtime, 3 x cell phones, chips, cash and a speaker.
The complainant sustained minor cuts to his fingers. Soon after the suspects fled, the complainant alerted a local community member and with their assistance, three suspects aged between 19 and 35 were arrested while the other suspect ran away.
A knife, 2 x toy guns, chips, 3 x cell phones and sim cards were confiscated.
All suspects will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate court on Monday 4 May 2020.
