A 52-year-old man was arrested and a significant quantity of drugs were confiscated following an intelligence-driven operation conducted by the South African Police Service (SAPS) Mount Road Visible Policing (VISPOL) Task Team on Wednesday.
According to police reports, members acted on information received and swiftly conducted an operation in the North End area on 18 February 2026.
Upon confronting the suspect, a preliminary search revealed that he was in possession of tik. A subsequent, more thorough search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a concealed package inside the engine compartment. The package was found to contain 109 Boss mandrax tablets.
The suspect is currently in police custody. He is expected to appear in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court soon on charges related to the possession and dealing of drugs.
