50 suspects arrested in crime clampdown, KWT cluster
50 suspects arrested in crime clampdown, King Williams Town cluster

Members of the King Williams Town Cluster Police conducted an operation over the past weekend, 8 October 2018, and arrested more than fifty suspects between the ages of 20 and 54 years for crimes ranging from drunkenness, drunken driving, fraud, possession of drugs, possession of stolen property, Common Robbery, Common Assault and housebreaking and Theft and Contravention of protection order.

Police were also on foot patrols conducting stop and search operations in the areas. The farms within the cluster were also visited as part of crime prevention duties and taverns were also visited to check compliance on taverns that are operating in our policing areas.

These suspects are due to appear at different Magistrate courts.

King William’s Town Acting Cluster Commander Colonel Nomonde Mene said, “SAPS are committed in fighting crime we are in full force in tracking down the perpetrators of crime. We will keep on checking the compliance on taverns that are operating in our policing areas, “she added.
