A total of 44 stolen sheep were recovered before the theft thereof had been discovered by the lawful owner.
A 49-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged for possession of stolen livestock during an intelligence driven operation carried out by Mthatha Stock Theft Unit members, Crime Intelligence and Public Order Policing members attached to Mthatha on 19 March 2021, at 20:00 at Manyosini location Mthatha.
The stolen livestock were recovered before the owner of the sheep had opened a case. The livestock owner was traced and was able to positively identify her stock.
The suspect is expected to appear before Mthatha Magistrate’s Court on 23 March 2021.
