Detectives at Walmer, Gelvandale and Bethelsdorp are on the hunt for murder suspects in three unrelated shooting incidents that occurred on Saturday 14 August 2021, in Gqeberha.

In the first incident on Saturday at approximately 21:10, it is alleged that SAPS Walmer responded to a complaint at a tavern in Airport Valley, Walmer location. On arrival the body Simon Jucu (30) was found with a gunshot wound to the head. While still on the scene it was established that another person aged 32-year-old was found in Songololo Street with gunshot wounds to his leg and foot.

The victim indicated that he was shot with the deceased. It is further alleged that a grey double cab arrived at the tavern and two male suspects got out of the vehicle and fired shots, injuring the second victim. A case of murder and attempted murder is under investigation. The motive and the suspect is unknown at this stage.

In another incident, also Saturday at approximately 22:30, two people sustained gunshot wounds in Kamma Park Street, Korsten. It is alleged that two unknown suspects arrived at the house asking for Clinton Jacobs (27). They were allowed in and shortly thereafter, shots were fired, fatally wounding Jacobs. A 47-year-old male also sustained injuries. The motive and the suspects are unknown at this stage. A case of murder and attempted murder is under investigation.

In the last incident on above mentioned date it is alleged that at approximately 22:40 in Auburn Street, Booysen Park the driver of a blue VW Jetta was busy dropping off his children when an unknown vehicle with two occupants drove slowly past them. The passenger in the vehicle started firing on the VW Jetta, injuring all four occupants in the vehicle aged between 15 and 44. They all sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital. Four cases of attempted murder is under investigation. The motive and the suspects are also unknown at this stage.
